Testing Laboratory for Material Flammability

The Testing Laboratory for Material Flammability is part of the Testing Laboratory No 1025 accredited by CIA (Czech Accreditation Institute).

 ACTIVITIES

• determination of flash, ignition and burning temperatures for a flammability assessment
• determination of dangerous features of chemical matters according to the Notice 164/2004 Coll.
• assessment of dangerous features of waste from the viewpoint of flammability, explosiveness, oxidative and pyrophoric features
• tests and controls of filling materials for liquidation of main mine works in the scope needed for fulfilment of the regulations § 6 art. 3, 4 of CBU Notice No 52/1997 Coll.
• examination of inert dust for use in mines
• tests of portable fire extinguishers
• tests of extinguishing agents - extinguishing powders and extinguishing agents other than water
• tests of conveyor belts, hoses and conduits of plastic from the viewpoint of inflammability
• flammability tests of liquids for hydraulic circuits
• tests of water explosion barriers (channels and bags)
• tests of reinforcing material for the underground use
• tests of resistance of welding hoses to the flaming particles
• textiles – easiness of ignition and burning speed of vertically placed samples
• determination of flammability with the method of oxygen number according to the CSN and ASTM
• large-scale tests in a testing gallery (conveyor belts, hoses, ventilation pipes, plastic tanks, spherical cocks, flap valves, etc.)
• simulation of machine and device fire in a testing gallery
• testing of material combustibility in compressed oxygen
• expert activity in the branch of flammability
