Testing Laboratory for Explosion Protection

The Testing Laboratory for Explosion Protection is part of the Testing Laboratory No. 1025 accredited by CIA (Czech Accreditation Institute).

BLASTING WORKS

• proposals of boring and priming diagrams for explosives reduction during tunnelling and for works in extreme mine conditions
• breaking-free blasting works
• blasting works by means of mud caps in the areas with danger of gas and dust explosion and near objects and devices
• irregularities of blasting works
• ecology of blasting works

EXPLOSION PROTECTION

• examination of causes and consequences of coal dust explosion or methane-air mixture explosions
• monitoring of explosion dynamics – expansion and decay of explosion processes in the area of 1D and 2D distribution
• assessment of building and protection systems resistance against pressure and thermal exposition of dust-air or gas mixtures including experimental examination
• assessment and examination of materials and constructions of explosion barriers, dam doors, dam objects and pressure resistant doors
• assessment and testing of extracting machines and road header sprays for elimination of methane-air mixture ignition risk
• assessment of explosion resistance of dam objects and devices
• tests of door gas-tightness

 OTHER ACTIVITIES

• advisory and expert activity in the working sphere, project assessment of explosives stores

 ŠTRAMBERK TESTING GALLERIES

• pressure resistance tests of gates, doors, fire doors and covered corridors of building objects, exposed to explosion pressure in the range from 1 up to 450 kPa, in extreme cases from 0,5 up to 1,0 MPa.
  

The testing is performed in the area of the testing galleries in Štramberk.

Generation of the explosion pressure with parameters required is arranged through an explosion system by means of explosives, methane-air and dust-air mixture combination.
