EXPLOSION PROTECTION DOCUMENT (EPD)

In the area of explosion prevention the emphasis on safe operation of more and more complex industrial technologies with various working procedures has been increased in last years, whereas the safety rules has also been continuously included into the legal and normative regulations of EU, and in this connection also of the Czech Republic.

One of such Czech legal documents is the Government Directive of the Czech Republic No 406/2004 Coll., on closer requirements on providing the occupational health and safety in an environment with explosion danger, being in force since 1st September 2004, which is based on the Directive of European Parliament and of the Council 1999/92/EC (ATEX 137), on the minimum requirements for improvements in health protection and safety of the personnel exposed to an environment with explosion danger.

In accordance with the requirements of the mentioned legal regulations a risk analysis is being performed, i.e. assessment of the explosion safety level of production technology complexes, individual operations or lines, an assessment of non-productive areas. Safety of activities performed in areas with explosion danger is assessed as well. An output of the mentioned assessments and evaluations is a written document -  Explosion Protection Document (EPD) - required according to the GD of the Czech Republic No 406/2004 Coll.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISES AND EXPERT'S OPINIONS

Technical expertises and expert's opinions assess concrete safety problems, namely requiring a fast assessment. They are performed either for the area of prevention, or by technical and authorised experts in cases of extraordinary events.

PROTOCOLS ON DETERMINATION OF OUTER INFLUENCES

Protocols on determination of outer influences contain an assessment of outer influences, danger of the assessed area from the viewpoint of electric current injury and an evaluation of the range and type of environments with explosion danger, whereby they form one of the basic documents for elaboration of explosion prevention state analysis according to the GD No 406/2004 Coll.

STRENGTH SOFTWARE SIMULATION + 3D MODELLING

Strength software simulation enables the verification of the pressure resistance without the need of financially demanding tests on real equipment. I.a. graphical outputs revealing the weak sides of the verified constructions and apparatuses are the results of such simulation, giving proposal on current sufficient fortification.

3D modelling then enables a 3D-illustration of the technologies, equipments and constructions themselves, so as verification of the positioning suitability of technical safe measures in relation to the surrounding.

TRAINING FOR EMPLOYEES

Trainings for employees of various companies are performed on the basis of the client's requirements and in accordance with legal regulations for the area of explosion prevention and safety generally. Apart from regulations concerning technical equipment also requirements on regular safety trainings of the employees are presented in standards focusing on the area of safety.

Their sense and objectives is to introduce to the other people the general requirements on activities in dangerous areas and concrete rules that are to be kept in real operation plants and during activities in an environment with explosion danger so that conditions for possible ignition of explosive atmosphere with a subsequent employee health threat could be minimized.

ENGINEERING

Engineering offers a complex arrangement of activities and services including consulting, projection, production and delivery of electro-equipment and MaR incl. its installation and setting into operation. It also arranges the activities of the upper-contractor in capital construction, namely of technologies connected with fire and explosion danger. It ensures an project elaboration, delivery and installation of associated heating systems in an environment with explosion danger.
